How can I deploy Acrobat Connect Pro?
You have a choice of three deployment options when you purchase an Acrobat Connect Pro solution: You can choose to have the solution hosted by Adobe. You can license your own version to install inside your organization's firewall. Or choose a managed service with which IT management is outsourced to a FISMA-compliant environment.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro scalable?
Yes. Acrobat Connect Pro Server offers support for single-server or clustered environments, providing reliable, redundant deployment for organizations small and large. Acrobat Connect Pro Edge servers help reduce bandwidth and improve delivery for groups of users in remote locations.
Does the Acrobat Connect Pro Add-in work on Windows 7?
Both the 7.0 and 7.5 versions of the Acrobat Connect Pro Add-in work in Windows 7 in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Users of Internet Explorer may experience issues entering meeting rooms with the Add-in due to the browser's security settings. To use the Add-in in this situation, add the hostname of the Acrobat Connect Pro server that you are attempting to connect to the trusted list of sites. ('Tools' menu / 'Internet Options' / 'Security' tab / 'Trusted sites'). Then re-attempt entering the meeting.
Does the Acrobat Connect Pro Add-in work on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)?
Both the 7.0 and 7.5 versions of the Acrobat Connect Pro Add-in function properly on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Users who try to install the 7.0 Add-in may be asked to install Rosetta software from Apple during the installation process. If you get this error, download and install Rosetta, then re-run the Acrobat Connect Pro Add-in installer. This is not an issue with the 7.5 version of the Add-in.

Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting

What types of content can I upload in an Acrobat Connect Pro meeting?
You can upload any or all of these content types: Microsoft PowerPoint slides, FLV and interactive content, live video, audio files, PDF documents, Adobe Captivate® demonstrations and simulations, prerecorded Adobe Presenter courses, images, or any other applications or content using screen sharing.
What are the benefits of uploading content versus screen sharing?
When presenting or collaborating, it is a best practice to upload documents to the meeting rather than use screen share. Advantages include easy organization and preparation for presenters, a better and higher fidelity viewing experience for participants, lower bandwidth requirements, and improved collaboration and annotation with the whiteboard.
What limitations, if any, are there on the type of PDF content that is supported with Acrobat Connect Pro?
PDF Portfolios and PDF files that are password protected cannot be shared in Connect Pro. In addition, certain PDF features are not supported when sharing PDFs in Connect Pro. In some cases objects within the PDF are either removed, or only a simple image preview is displayed.

The following objects will not display when shared within a PDF in Connect Pro:
  • Comment text (only the sticky note icon is shown)
  • Attachments
  • Bookmarks
  • Audio clips (only the play button icon is shown)
The following objects retain a simple image preview (an image representing the object) when shared within a PDF in Connect Pro:
  • Forms
  • 3D objects
  • Multimedia content (audio, video, and SWF files)
What forms of interactivity does Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting support?
Meeting participants can interact through chats, screen sharing, file sharing, application sharing, multiperson video, dynamic whiteboarding, and polling. Hosts can also choose to extend the meeting experience with, for example, engaging click-through presentations or interactive demonstrations and simulations that ask participants to complete a task.
Can I control who attends an Acrobat Connect Pro meeting?
Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting has multiple levels of security available to help ensure the privacy of your meeting and the confidentiality of information. Optionally, you can make a meeting public and enable any user to enter a meeting. You can also extend the functionality of Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting with the Acrobat Connect Pro Events module, which enables you to automate registering and managing attendees of large online events and presentations.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting secure?
All communications between the Acrobat Connect Pro Server and client systems can be protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption and are DCTS JITC certified. This enables more secure delivery of data, voice, and video between Acrobat Connect Pro Server and Acrobat Connect Pro applications and end users. Does Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting have a customizable user interface?
Yes, Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting provides the industry's most comprehensive customization options, including the ability to incorporate your organization's brand throughout the Acrobat Connect Pro experience. Using an intuitive, web-based interface, customers can apply color schemes and logos to the login screens, web application, presentations, and meetings. Furthermore, Acrobat Connect Pro can support multiple configurable layouts that enable users to tailor their online personal meeting room functionality and interface to a specific objective.
What are persistent meeting rooms?
Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting enables customers to set up subject-, audience-, or presenter-specific online conference rooms. Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting room configurations — and all content — are automatically saved (persistent) and always available, so they can be reused for recurring meetings, compliance, or presentations to multiple groups without recurring advance setup.
What are meeting templates?
Meeting templates enable users and organizations to save meeting room layouts and content as a personal template or shared template. Templates can be used to create new meetings that inherit the layouts and are prepopulated with content, promoting consistent communication and rapid rollout of web conferencing to an organization or enterprise.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting support streaming audio and video?
Yes. Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting natively supports streaming audio and video for camera and voice, FLV, screen sharing, and whiteboarding. Acrobat Connect Pro also offers progressive preloading of slide and rich media content for a great viewing experience during the course of a meeting regardless of bandwidth connectivity.
What is Turbo Screen Sharing?
Turbo Screen Sharing is the ability to screen-share fast-moving multimedia and video at a very low bandwidth consumption rate, while maintaining a superior user experience that includes high fidelity, smoothness, and minimal dropped frames.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting support integrated audio conferencing?
Yes. You can control audio conference calls directly from the Acrobat Connect Pro meeting room — no need for reservations. Mute/unmute and hold/unhold participants' phone lines, eject participants, and view the active speaker. The integration with select audio partners also provides a single interface for scheduling web and phone conferences, along with synchronized web and phone conferencing audio recordings. Additionally with Universal Voice, integrated audio recording and broadcast are available with any audio conferencing service.
Which partners provide Acrobat Connect Pro advanced integrated audio conferencing?
Advanced audio integration with Acrobat Connect Pro is available through Avaya, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, InterCall, MeetingOne, and Premiere Global Services.
What's the difference between Universal Voice and advanced audio integration?
Universal Voice works with any audio conference service but only supports integrated recordings and audio broadcast. Advanced audio integration works with a number of specific audio conferencing platforms and hosted services and provides advanced call control, real-time participant status, and audio recording.
Which advanced audio integration services are available on the Adobe Hosted service?
The Adobe Hosted service includes InterCall, MeetingOne, and Premiere Global Services.
What phone numbers are supported for Universal Voice?
Currently Universal Voice supports U.S. toll-free numbers only on our North American servers; this includes numbers beginning with 800, 888, 877, and 866. On our European servers, it supports toll free U.K. numbers.
Can Acrobat Connect Pro meetings be recorded?
Yes, Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting offers a unique approach to recording meetings through its archived meeting index. Acrobat Connect Pro records meetings at the content and event levels, rather than capturing the entire meeting as one long event that must be played back in its entirety for subsequent viewing. Viewers can use the meeting index to navigate to the most relevant content quickly — so they don't have to waste valuable time watching content that may not be relevant to them. Meeting recordings include synchronized audio and video for either VoIP or telephone audio conferencing.
Can Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting recordings be edited and played offline?
Yes, recordings can easily be edited and played back offline for easy viewing anywhere, anytime. End users will need the Connect Meeting Add-in to view these recordings.
Can I use Adobe Captivate demonstrations and simulations with Acrobat Connect Pro?
Yes, you can use Adobe Captivate SWF files within Acrobat Connect Pro meetings to create fully synchronized, self-running software demonstrations or interactive, self-paced simulations within the Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting interface.
Can I use Adobe Presenter presentations with Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting?
Yes, you can play Adobe Presenter presentations within Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting as either static, click-through presentations or self-running, narrated presentations.
Is the Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting module integrated with Acrobat Connect Pro Training?
Yes, you can include Acrobat Connect Pro meetings as part of an Acrobat Connect Pro Training curriculum to support blended learning, including both on-demand courses and live virtual classroom training.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting integrated with Acrobat Connect Pro Events?
Yes. Using Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting with Acrobat Connect Pro Events enables you to provide advanced registration and reporting capabilities around Acrobat Connect Pro meetings. What are Named Organizer licenses?
Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting is typically sold on a per-host basis via Named Organizer licenses. Individual Named Organizers have the ability to host meetings at any time with the capacity level defined by their account. They may create an unlimited number of meeting rooms; however, they can only use one of their rooms at any one time, and rooms cannot be accessed unless the Named Organizer is present. Named Organizers must be individuals, not groups or generic logins, and a Named Organizer license cannot be shared between more than one individual.
What is the maximum capacity per meeting room?
For accounts with Named Organizer licenses, the "Concurrent Users Per Meeting" field defines the maximum room capacity and can be found in the Account Summary section of the Administration tab in Connect Pro Central.

Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast

What is Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast?
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast is Adobe's large events solution designed to support the one-to-many or few-to-many requirements for Acrobat Connect Pro customers. The offering includes all elements of an online event, including bundled event management services, registration, registrant communications, and online reporting.
What deployment options do I have for Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast?
Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast is available as a hosted service only. If you deployed Acrobat Connect Pro as an on-premise or managed service, you can purchase Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast separately as a hosted service.
What forms of interactivity does Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast support?
Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast offers a rich degree of interactivity, including attendee Q&A, polling, and web surveys. The platform provides complete web-based reporting for hosts and moderators to measure complete attendee engagement postevent.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast have a customizable user interface?
Yes, Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast includes customization options that include the ability to incorporate your organization's brand throughout the Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast experience. Does Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast support integrated audio conferencing?
Yes. Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast is based on an audio-streaming delivery model. Generally, attendees listen to the audio or view streaming video entirely over the desktop, with no need to dial out to a conference bridge.
What if I want to provide attendees the option to listen to audio over the phone?
Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast can include a dial-in option for customers who want to provide that choice to attendees.
Does Adobe offer Event Services management for Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast?
Yes. Event Services management is included as part of the standard base package for Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast. Event Services includes a kickoff call with event consultation, event setup, rehearsal, live event management services, and help with postevent reporting.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast scalable?
Yes. Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast runs on highly redundant network architecture optimized for large events. This means that you can easily support and scale up to 80,000 concurrent attendees.
How do I purchase Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast?
Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast is sold on a per-event basis. Every event sold will be priced based on your expected attendee capacity, duration of event, and postevent archiving needs. Technical support and event management services are included.
How far in advance of a large event do I need to purchase Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast?
It is recommended that you purchase Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast at least four weeks in advance. This will allow sufficient time to identify event requirements, coordinate event planning details, and promote the success of your event by providing sufficient training and rehearsal.
What is the typical preparation time required for the host of an Acrobat Connect Pro Webcast event?
Hosts are expected to do a kickoff call with their designated event manager at least two weeks before the planned event date. During that time, the event manager will provide event consultation, setup, and rehearsal in preparation of the event.

What is Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Training?
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Training enables organizations to quickly deploy and manage online courses and curriculums. It provides complete curriculum management capabilities, including the ability to incorporate live meetings, external events, and self-paced courses into a single curriculum. With Acrobat Connect Pro Training, organizations can deploy, measure, and track their training and compliance initiatives.
Who should use Acrobat Connect Pro Training?
Anyone who needs to communicate with or train people online should use Acrobat Connect Pro Training. This typically includes departments such as training, human resources, marketing, sales, and IT.
Can I control who has access to a course or curriculum?
The Acrobat Connect Pro servers provide a rich set of permissions, access control, and learner management features to restrict access to courses and curriculums.
Can I use Acrobat Connect Pro Training to conduct certification training?

Can Acrobat Connect Pro Training give me insight into the effectiveness of my training?

What is a virtual classroom?
A virtual classroom is a customizable, persistent meeting room with enhanced features for eLearning where you can share courses and track the individual results of your learners. While you can include the same course in your curriculum and have learners take quizzes on their own, sharing a course in a virtual classroom gives you the added benefits of a moderated quiz, allowing you to answer private chats as you proctor the test, validate the identity of those present, and so on
Who can create a virtual classroom?
An individual must be both a training manager and a meeting host to create a virtual classroom. Your organization must own licenses to both Acrobat Connect Pro Training and Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting for these roles to be assigned and a virtual classroom created.

Acrobat Connect Pro Events

What is Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Events?
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Events provides tools to successfully manage the full life cycle of an event, from registration and qualification of attendees through postevent follow-up. Acrobat Connect Pro Events capabilities can be applied to all Acrobat Connect Pro modules, including online seminars, on-demand presentations, and training programs.
Who should use Acrobat Connect Pro Events?
Anyone who needs to communicate with or train large groups of people online should use Acrobat Connect Pro Events. This typically includes sales and marketing, corporate training, partner relations, and human resources managers.
Can participants be qualified before registering for an event?
Yes. Organizations can now create custom online registration forms, complete with required fields and custom questions, to enable attendee self-registration. The Acrobat Connect Pro Events module automatically tracks responses and enables event managers to authorize participation individually.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Events provide reporting and tracking of an event?
Acrobat Connect Pro Events provides dashboard reports that include attendee demographic information, registration, and attendance tracking at the individual level; answers to registration survey questions and in-session polling; and quiz and survey responses. Acrobat Connect Pro Events generates files in CSV format for import into CRM and other systems.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro Events customizable?
Yes. Acrobat Connect Pro Events enables the branding of all attendee-facing pages, including registration and event listing pages. Users also have the option to edit these pages using Contribute. Acrobat Connect Pro Events and Contribute enable users to create professional-looking Acrobat Connect Pro Events pages without any knowledge of HTML.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro Events scalable?
Yes. Is Acrobat Connect Pro Events secure?

Does Adobe offer event support services?
Yes. The Adobe Event Services team can provide online assistance during an event from an Acrobat Connect Pro support coordinator. The support coordinator manages user entry, passing of permissions, responses, and collection of questions through chat and technical support for meeting management.
Is Acrobat Connect Pro Events integrated with Acrobat Connect Pro Training?
Yes. Using Acrobat Connect Pro Events with Acrobat Connect Pro Training enables you to use the functionality in Acrobat Connect Pro Events for courses and curriculums.

Acrobat Connect Pro Server

What is Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Server?
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Server integrates real-time and on-demand communications and provides user administration, tracking, and reporting, as well as integrated content management across all Acrobat Connect Pro applications through a fully searchable content library. This server is available as a hosted service or as licensed software for on-site deployment.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Server provide access controls and policy management?
Acrobat Connect Pro servers provide flexible controls over use and management of the Acrobat Connect Pro system. Administrators can add and delete users, identify rights, and manage groups from one console. Acrobat Connect Pro servers enable password policy management and administrator reset of password policy management consistent with corporate best practices, enabling administrators to align Acrobat Connect Pro servers with their existing security policies. These policies are enforced across the Acrobat Connect and Acrobat Connect Pro applications.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Server support LDAP and Active Directory?
Acrobat Connect Pro Server directory services integration (Active Directory, LDAP) enables out-of-the-box integration with an organization's existing user management system, reducing application management costs by managing users and groups in a single location. Native directory service integration is supported with licensed deployments only. CSV file import provides hosted customers with bulk imports of users and groups into the system.
Does Acrobat Connect Pro Server support web services?
